2016 Meetings and events

CVMC meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. The location of meetings is established by CVMC volunteers and changes to a different restaurant each month.

Members gather at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a meal and social time, which is followed by a discussion of club business and the opportunity to share news about our cars or other information of interest to club members.

Rallies are held throughout the year and provide opportunities to enjoy a group Miata drive through the beautiful Virginia countryside. Although the schedule varies, rallies are generally held on the third Saturday of each month, weather permitting.

Gauthier Vineyard
5000 Farmers Drive
Barhamsville, VA
804-843-4119

This is a winery that started as a hobby by 2 retired Navy Captains who have turned it into their piece of paradise of combining their love of wine and horses. Two cautions, their "driveway" is a long gravel road (no problems when we scouted it) and there is 1 unisex bathroom at the tasting room. We will be getting their shortly before they open (11am) so we should be okay cycling through the facility. Once there, ask them about their outdoor pizza oven.

We will then meander W and SW, crossing the James river at Hopewell then make our way along backroads to the heart of Colonial Heights for a final destination at the newly opened Sibley BBQ restaurant within the Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum.

Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum
880 W Roslyn Rd
Colonial Heights, VA 23834

The museum owner also owns local Abilene Trucking (those green trucks you see everywhere) and puts his profits into restoring antique trucks and tractors. Judy and Roger swear this is a place you will not regret going to (at least once) and to send your visiting relatives to when you become "ripe" or you need some sane time without them.

Rally: August 20 - Going to the Green

This is a short mileage rally (68 or so miles, less on the way back). While enjoying the roads is important, this is more about the destination (not to mention minimizing our time in the sun and heat).

Sunoco Station
11901 Patrick Henry Hwy
Amelia Courthouse, VA 23002

After our 1, 2 or 3 function mid-point break, we will meander to our destination at Charley's Waterfront Cafe in Farmville, VA, sitting atop the Appomattox river.

Charley's Waterfront Café

Farmville, VA

For those who are not familiar with Farmville, our restaurant is right in the middle of the Green Front Furniture mega-complex in Farmville, our side benefit destination.

For those ladies who have not visited Green Front Furniture you may want to take the afternoon to tour their multiple multi-level converted tobacco warehouses chocked full of interesting furniture and accessories. To those gentlemen who have not visited Green Front Furniture, my apologies for your inevitable indebtedness.
