2020 Meetings and Events

CVMC meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. The location of meetings is established by CVMC volunteers and changes to a different restaurant each month.

Members gather at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a meal and social time, which is followed by a discussion of club business and the opportunity to share news about our cars or other information of interest to club members.

Rallies are held throughout the year and provide opportunities to enjoy a group Miata drive through the beautiful Virginia countryside. Although the schedule varies, rallies are generally held on the third Saturday of each month, weather permitting.

Rally: Saturday, June 13 - Don't Get Your Hopes Up Rally

At our May CVMC Zoom meeting, many of you expressed an interest in participating in a "Covid-Conscious" rally in June.

Dee and Greg have planned the rally for Saturday, June 13. The rally will take us through Hanover, New Kent, and King William on some of the county's most curvy roads. We would meet at 9:00AM and leave by 9:20AM. The starting point is at: Valero Fas Mart, 9200 Chamberlayne Road, Mechanicsville Va 23116. We'll end up at Dee and Greg's house for a brown bag picnic in their back yard. Ladies can use the restrooms in the house, and the guys can use the restroom in Greg's workshop.
  • Dee and Greg Tunstall, 8096 Perrincrest Place, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.  Phone: (804) 301-2088

What you will need to bring for the Picnic at Dee & Greg's:

  1. Lawn Chairs
  2. Your Picnic Lunch
  3. (Masks/Sanitizers mentioned below)
Dee and Greg will provide water, sodas and an assortment of individually packaged chips.

IF YOU WILL ATTEND THIS RALLY, please respond to this email by 11:00 PM, this Sunday, May 31 so we can get an idea of how many people to expect. Here are some rules to protect us and others during our time together:

4 Rules For Preventing Coronavirus Spread During the Rally

  1. Stay Home if you have symptoms like a fever and a cough – Even if your symptoms are mild, you should stay home. You may feel like you’ll be okay and intend to keep completely to yourself, but you can’t predict what might happen if you go on a rally. If you are infected with Coronavirus, you may accidentally spread it to others.
  2. Wear a mask and be serious about social distancing – Keep yourself and your stuff six feet away from everybody else when at rest stops, when you get gas, grab a bite to eat or use restrooms. Germs can travel outside.
  3. Bring hand sanitizer & sanitizing wipes – Use hand sanitizer and wipes every time you touch surfaces. Be especially careful with doors, light switches, bathroom surfaces and anywhere people handle food.
  4. Watch your gear – When you stop, there’s a tendency to set purses, backpacks, keys, wallets and cell phones down on surfaces. You don’t know what germs live there. Whenever possible lock your stuff in your car or carry it in your pockets instead of setting it down
