2022 Meetings and Events

CVMC meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month. The location of meetings is established by CVMC volunteers and changes to a different restaurant each month.

Members gather at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy a meal and social time, which is followed by a discussion of club business and the opportunity to share news about our cars or other information of interest to club members.

Rallies are held throughout the year and provide opportunities to enjoy a group Miata drive through the beautiful Virginia countryside. Although the schedule varies, rallies are generally held on the Saturday following the monthly meeting, weather permitting.

During our May CVMC Dinner meeting, we decided to participate in the 53rd Annual Richmond Collector Car Show and Swap Meet and we selected four CVMC members who will present their cars on the Show Field to represent the evolution of the Mazda Miata. The CVMC will reimburse these four CVMC members for their registration fees.

We invite other CVMC members to participate on the Show Field, however, you will need to register individually and pay the registration fee.

Below is a "FACT SHEET" to help maximize your enjoyment of the show.

  • This event is RAIN OR SHINE. No refunds, even if Mother Nature washes us out.
  • It is all for FUN & CHARITY – You are under no pressure to attend.
  • Remember… this is a very large show, run by volunteers. Be patient and flexible; it will be great!

  • We're having individual magnetic signs made for our club's display Miatas, one for each generation (total 4 cars). Assuming we have more than 4 cars on the Show Field, we'll provide paper signs for the windshields to designate generation.
    • Signs for Cars (PDF) - Open this PDF file and print the page that represents the generation of your Miata.
  • There also will be a special multi-brand "Evolution Display" which will include one of our CVMC Miatas. We have tentatively selected Roger & Judy's Mazda Speed Turbo Miata because it is special, rare and beautiful.

Rally: Saturday, November 19 - Stop and Smell the History Rally

We've named our rally to Port Royal the "Stop and Smell the History" Rally. Here's a little background:

Port Royal was established in 1649, in the Colony of VA. Its primary purpose was to be a port for tobacco export. Location is at the head of navigable reach of the Rappahannock River. It was incorporated as a town in 1744, on an early stagecoach route. Town Hall is on the original "Town Green," reserved for public use. John Wilkes Booth fled through Port Royal, after shooting Lincoln. Booth was killed just outside of town. In the modern past, the town was a major tourist stop due to US Routes 17 and 301.

County of Henrico, Glen Allen Branch Library (building has Red Roof)
10501 Staples Mill Rd (route 33)
